Ingredients

45 Minutes
Serves 10 servi
  • 1 kgstrong
  • 50 gyeast
  • 500 mlmilk
  • 120 gmargarine
  • 4eggs
  • 10 gsalt
  • 120 gsugar
  • 35 gdesiccated coconut
  • 200 gredpulm jam

Steps

45 Minutes

    Assemble all the required ingredients

    Weigh appropiately

  3. 3

    Sieve the flour

  4. 4

    Dissolve the yeast in half the milk

  5. 5

    Add in flour

  6. 6

    Knead by hands until into a thick batter

  7. 7

    Cover it and let it ferment

  8. 8

    Rub in the margarine into the rest of the flour

  9. 9

    Beat the eggs

  10. 10

    Add the salt and sugar

  11. 11

    Add the egg mixture and flour mixture into the yeast mixture

  12. 12

    Mix carefully to form a soft dough

  13. 13

    Place in a lightly oiled bowl

  14. 14

    Cover with a damp cloth

  15. 15

    Let it proove for 30 minutes

  16. 16

    Knead the dough on the table

  17. 17

    Let it rest again for 10 minutes

  18. 18

    Scale the dough into 60g pieces

  19. 19

    Roll them into balls

  20. 20

    Make a hole at the centre

  21. 21

    Let it rest again for 5 minutes

  22. 22

    Carefully deep fry inrto hot vegetable oil

  23. 23

    Turn over when coloured on one side and fully cooked

  24. 24

    Drain well on a grease proof paper

  25. 25

    Toss in red jam

  26. 26

    Then toss into desiccated coconut

  27. 27

    Plate and serve

  28. 28
