Ingredients

  • 2 cupsall purpose flour
  • 1/2 cupsugar(I should have put less.It was too sweet for me)
  • as neededWarm water
  • 2 tbspbaking powder(I think 1tbsp would be better)
  • Cardamon spice as desired
  • 2 tbspmargarine
  • Oil for frying

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix all dry ingredients together and mix well

  2. 2

    Add margarine and rub well till it forms a sand texture

  3. 3

    Make a well and pour in little warm water as you mix to achieve a dough

  4. 4

    Knead the dough for about 3-5 mins to ensure everything is well incorporated

  5. 5

    Cover the dough and set it aside as you prepare your frying pan

  6. 6

    Then roll out your mandazi dough and cut to desired shapes

  7. 7

    Pour oil in your pan or sufuria and heat it till hot

  8. 8

    Fry your mandazi and serve hot. Enjoy it with your preferred beverage. I had it with spiced tea
