Smothered Mushroom Meat

Fo Fa
Fo Fa @cook_2813029

I mean, how easy is this?
I am saying meat, because many different cuts of meat or poultry could by used in this. You don't need to limit yourself to just pork like I am using this time. Cheaper cuts with some fat work really well for this.
Because I only have a 2 quart slow cooker, I am making a small amount. But you can easily double this recipe for a larger family and slow cooker.

Steps

  1. 1

I like cheaper cuts off meat, with some fat for this dish. Using pork steaks today.

  2. 2

I like to spray my slow cooker surface. Then put your meat in.

  4. 4

Clean a couple/few cloves of garlic, chop and add to slow cooker. You may use garlic powder if you want.

  7. 7

Now mushrooms are not typically in a smothered dish, but we like them. Chop them up and add on top.

  14. 14

Half way through the cooking process, I like to give it a little stir, and make sure there is enough liquid. If you think it is too dry, add some water/broth. Usually it is fine.

My wife is disabled, she has M.S. And she finds it hard to cook from her wheelchair. I like a variety of foods, but hate tomatoes, so you don't see too many of my recipes with tomatoes on them. Also both of us have type II diabetes, so high carb and sweet is usually not on the menu either. We have one married daughter, and one that now lives in the Seattle area. We live in Texas, USA with our two dogs.Sorry I have not posted in awhile. Been taking chemo and radiation. and it has taken some out of me. Doctor says it seems to be working, so there is that.
