Ingredients

30 minutes
3-4 servings
  • 1 kgBeef, cut into small cubes
  • 10-12Shallots/pearl onions, thinly sliced
  • 5Green chilies, finely chopped
  • 10 clovesGarlic, finely minced
  • 1"Ginger, finely chopped
  • 3 tbspDry red chilli flakes crushed
  • 2 tbspred chilli powder
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1/4 tspMustard seeds
  • 1 tspSoya sauce
  • 1 tspVinegar
  • 2 tbspCorn flour
  • 1 dropRed food colour (optional)
  • 1 sprigCurry leaves
  • to tasteSalt
  • As neededOil

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Clean & wash the beef thoroughly using vinegar and salt. Drain the meat.

  2. 2

    Marinate the beef with chilli powder, turmeric powder, soy sauce, corn flour, red food colour, & salt. Leave it aside for 30 mins.

  3. 3

    Heat oil in a pan. Add the shallots and saute until golden & translucent. Add the green chilies, garlic, & ginger and saute until the raw smell goes away.

  4. 4

    Add the marinated meat and mix well. Cook on medium flame, stirring occasionally. Add more oil if needed.

  5. 5

    Fry until the colour changes into dark red to brown. Add the crushed red chilli flakes and curry leaves. Cook for another 5 mins.

  6. 6

    Remove from flame and serve hot with steamed rice or Kerala parotta.

A tip more: Boil the beef with the first ingredients with cooker. So beef will be good to eat
