Ingredients

  1. 300 grmsboneless chicken
  2. 1big onion cut into cubes
  3. 1big capsicum cut into cubes
  4. 1big tomato cut into cubes
  5. First marinade
  6. 1 tbspginger garlic paste
  7. 1 tspkashmiri red chilli powder
  8. 2 tsplemon juice
  9. to tasteSalt
  10. Second marinade
  11. 1 cupthick/hung yogurt/dahi
  12. 1/2 tspcarom seeds
  13. 1/2 tspcumin powder
  14. 1/2 tspblack pepper powder
  15. 1/2 tspturmeric
  16. 1 tspcoriander powder
  17. 1 tspgaram masala powder
  18. 1 tspkitchen king masala powder
  19. 1/2dry mango powder (amchur)
  20. 2 tspkashmiri red chilli powder
  21. 2 tspdry roasted fenugreek leaves (kasoori methi)
  22. 3 tbspveg oil/mustard oil
  23. 1 pinchorange red colour

Steps

  1. 1

    Add chicken in a bowl and apply ingredients listed under first marinade, refrigerate it for 20mins

  2. 2

    Meanwhile in a bowl whisk together hung yogurt, add all ingredients listed below second marinade

  3. 3

    Add marinated chicken pieces & veggies(capsicum,onion,tomatoes) mix well and refrigerate to marinate for 1-2hrs

  4. 4

    Pre heat oven at 180 degree c

  5. 5

    Skewer marinated chicken pieces & veggies onto satay sticks (skew them alternating veggies & chicken) and place on a wire rack in the pre heated oven,(keep a tray underneath to catch drippings) brush with some butter and bake for abt 15 mins or till chicken is browned on all sides and tender

  6. 6

    Ur chicken tikka is ready to serve

    Note : if using wooden skewers, make sure to soak them for 30mins in water before threading the chicken (this keep the wood from burning)
