In a large sauce pan dry your meat and then brown them.

Add onions and cook until slightly golden then add garlic and ginger and cook for a few mins

Add potatoes and whole spices and cook for 2-3 mins stirring regularly

Add your pilau masala into the meat and cook for one minute.

Pour the soaked rice and mix until the rice and the meat is well mixed. Cover and let it simmer for 1 minute.

Increase heat, add water (an inch above your rice) and bring your pilau to a boil.

Let the water reduce up to the same level with your pilau, then cover the pan tightly and lower the heat.

Simmer for 15-20mins in low heat.

Remove the pan from the flame and let your pilau sit, covered for another 5 mins before serving.

Serve while hot.
