Soak chana daal in water for about 20 mins.heat oil in a pressure cooker and add mustard seeds.when the seeds start popping up, add curry leaves.saute on a low flame and mix in chopped onion.cook till onion is little brown.

Add chopped tomatoes,turai and chana dal pour 2 cups of water. Mix in salt and spices. Cover the pressure cooker and cook it till 5 whistles.open the lid and add some more water,if the dish is too dry.

Mast it little bit and maintain the desired consistency of daal and turai.keep in Medium flame for 2 mins more.
