Ingredients

  1. For the pan:
  2. 4large apples
  3. 3level tablespoons unsalted butter
  4. 5level tablespoons brown sugar
  5. Cinnamon
  6. Raisins (optional)
  7. For the batter:
  8. 2/3 cupsugar (about 135 grams)
  9. 1/3 cupunsalted butter or olive oil (about 75 grams)
  10. 1egg
  11. 1/2 cupmilk (about 120 ml)
  12. 2 1/2 teaspoonsbaking powder
  13. 2 packetsvanilla sugar or 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  14. 1 1/2 cupsall-purpose flour (about 190 grams)

Steps

  1. 1

    Use a round baking pan about 12 inches (30 cm) in diameter. Line the pan with parchment paper, letting it come up the sides a bit.

    Add the butter for the pan and place it on the stovetop over very low heat just until melted. Spread the butter evenly over the bottom. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon on top.

    Peel the apples, cut each into eight slices, and arrange them evenly in the pan. If you like, sprinkle a few raisins on top.

    In a bowl, beat the sugar with the butter or olive oil. Add the egg, milk, baking powder, vanilla, and finally the flour.

    Spoon the batter over the apples and spread it evenly.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 45 minutes.

    Remove from the oven and invert onto a serving platter along with the parchment paper.

    Carefully remove the parchment paper, and your dessert is ready!
