Soak poppy seeds in water for 5-6 hours.Then grind the soaked poppy, to form a smooth paste. Add little oil while grinding..

Now take a pan or khadhai and heat ghee in it. Add crushed cardamom

Transfer the poppy seeds paste into the pan and roast for 10-15 minutes. It is important to keep stirring so that the mixture does not get stuck to the base. Roast till it start leaving oil and does not stuck to the base.

When you start smelling the amazing aroma, add milk, sugar and the dry fruits pieces to the roasted poppy seeds and roast for another 5-6 minutes till milk is fully absorbed and turned to thick mass.

Your yummy khas khas halwa is ready to eat! 🙂
Diabetic people can add sugarfree instead of sugar.
