Into a mixing bowl or basin(kibandanski style) put sugar,oil,dry yeast and then pour the lukewarm water and stir.

Let it sit for 5-10 mins so that the yeast feeds or gets active. It should froth or foam.

In a separate bowl,mix the all purpose flour and salt then add it into the yeast mixture in bits with your hands. You can use a mixer too.

Knead the dough on a dusted surface for 10 mins to make it pliable.

Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and place it in a warm area in your kitchen till it doubles in size,say 1 hour.

Punch it down and then divide your dough into four equal balls.

Roll out each ball into a nice round. I dust the surface with all purpose flour and some maize flour. This makes the base have some crunch when cooked/baked.
