Ingredients

  1. Ingredients for pastry dough
  2. 3 cupsplain flour
  3. 1/2 cupghee
  4. 1 teaspoonsugar
  5. Pinchsalt
  6. Water
  7. Ingredients for Filling :-
  8. 2 cupsroasted almond ground
  9. 1 cupicing sugar
  10. 1 tablespoonegg replacer (if you eat eggs 1 egg)

Steps

  1. 1

    In a bowl add flour, salt, sugar and ghee and mix until it is crumbly. Add water an make dough. Leave it aside wrapped in clingfilm.

    In a pan roast almonds and let it cool. Once cool grind it to fine powder. Transfer it in a bowl and add sugar to it and mix well.
    Add egg replacer and make a soft dough.

    Mix well and make a roll and make a long rectangle strip 1/2 in depth.
    Roll the dough in the same shape and cut it with cutter and with the help of crimpers make
    designs and bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees.
    Second option roll both the dough out cut it with cookie cutter and stick them up with edible glue and make design using cookie press or crimpers.
    Once baked brush them with honey and sprinkle some gold dust.

    Take a ball size dough and colour it red for decoration. With a press make small flowers and stick it if preferred.

Hi all, my name is Rekha. I am Indian by birth, born in Uganda, East Africa, I now live in Wilby, Northamptonshire/England.I retired at the age of 60 due to severe arthritis. I am married, a mother and grandmother.I learnt to cook from my parents at a very young age of seven. I started to cook simple dishes for the family and gradually learnt how to cook. My mum use to cook at our shop where we sold Indian sweets and savouries. I have learnt a lot from my mum. I started cooking fusion dishes and learning from others. My strong point is making sweet dishes and innovating new dishes. I can improvise and be creative in leftover dishes.I love being on Cookpad because I can share and learn new recipes. I have also made a lot of friends.

I also had another question. I was unclear about exactly what temperature to bake them at. 180? Is that Fahrenheit or Celsius? I'm in the United States. My oven is it to Fahrenheit.
