Steps

  1. 1

First step : Peel of the turnip and cut them in thin slices.

  2. 2

Now It depends In which season you are cooking turnip. Usually in the beginnin of turnip season, turnip tastes little bitter. In order to get rid of their bitterness, boil sliced pieces of turnip in water (1-2) glasses, after 1 or 2 boils strain that water and add new water in cooker pressure. Make Sure that u don't add too much water as vegetables also leaves their own water. 1-2 glasses are enough.

  3. 3

Now add thinly sliced onion in cooker pressure (1 large size is enough), One peeled tomato (cut in small pieces), Garlic paste and ginger paste.

  4. 4

Now its time to add spices, add 1 and half teaspoon of salt (or according to your taste),Red chilli powder (1 spoon), turmeric (half spoon).

  5. 5

Now Add meat (chicken, beef, mutton). As Chicken takes less time so you can give it 10 mins, While 15 mins for beef or mutton.

  6. 6

I like My Turnips to dissolve goodly that's why i like to give them few more min, but if you like your turnip in chunks 10 mins are ok. Close your cooker pressure and after it fully steamed, than count your time and open it after 10 or 15 mins

  7. 7

Now Add Some Oil (1-1/2) cups of oil and let it cooked slightly, mean while add 1 and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar and black cardamom. after you notice that oil is getting seperate from turnips and start apearing on sides and tops. Turn Of the stove. Garnish it With Coriander.
