Cooking Instructions
- 1
Start by cutting the pork loin into thin strips, place them in a bowl, and marinate with: 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce, white pepper, a splash of wine, salt, the beaten egg, and mix everything well. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
After the time has passed, coat the pork in flour for breading and fry it in a pan with plenty of oil, doing a double fry:
First, fry on medium heat for a few minutes, then remove from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes.
Second, fry on high heat until golden and crispy, then remove and set aside. - 3
To make the sweet and sour sauce, add a splash of oil to a large pan and finely chop the garlic. Once the garlic is golden, add: the broth, vinegar, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, ketchup, honey, salt, and mix everything well. Gradually add a mixture of 1 tablespoon of cornstarch dissolved in a glass with a little water until the sauce reaches the desired thickness.

Add the reserved pork to the pan and mix everything well, cook for a few minutes, plate, and it's ready to eat.

Easy Meatballs in Sweet and Sour Sauce Easy Meatballs in Sweet and Sour Sauce
I used to include onions in these, but when I started to focus on their softness, I ended up with this recipe. The water that you mix into the meat is pretty key in producing soft, fluffy meatballs!Using katakuriko starch powder gives the sauce a thick texture! These meatballs turn out great not only with ground pork but even with other ground meats or minced chicken. Just halve the amount of egg if you're planning on using minced chicken, because chicken naturally has more moisture to begin with. Recipe by Fumecchi cookpad.japan -
Yum! Sweet and Sour Pork Style Meatballs in Sweet Vinegar Ankake Sauce Yum! Sweet and Sour Pork Style Meatballs in Sweet Vinegar Ankake Sauce
A friend of mine told me that they fry leftover hamburger meat mixture and serve it coated with sweet vinegar ankake sauce, so I fried the leftover meat mixture from meat-stuffed peppers and turned them into sweet-and-sour pork style meatballs. The green peppers will change color if you add them in too early, so it is better to cut them up finely and then add them in later. It also tastes great if you add in shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and quail eggs. The katakuriko will sink to the bottom of the combined flavoring ingredients, so be sure to mix it up again before adding it to the pan. For 3 servings. Recipe by Hamumaki cookpad.japan -
Chicken & Pork Meatballs! Sweet and Sour Sauce Chicken & Pork Meatballs! Sweet and Sour Sauce
I saw some ground chicken breast on sale! Chicken has a pretty light flavor to it, so when I decided to change half of the meat to pork, I ended up with especially tasty meatballs! This meaty and hearty dish lets you enjoy the taste of chicken without the greasiness of an all-pork recipe. If you like your meatballs chock-full of meat, reduce the amount of onions. If your onion seems to be on the watery side, make sure to squeeze the moisture out after chopping. After pouring the sauce onto the meatballs, simmer well to get rid of the acidity from the ketchup and vinegar. These are also good without doubanjiang! Sweet and Sour Sauce for Egg Foo Yong Sweet and Sour Sauce for Egg Foo Yong
Ever since I was a child, I liked to putter around in the kitchen. Sometimes I watched my late mom cooking. Most of the time she asked me to do this and that. I can still hear her voice telling me to peel or chop something. Growing up, I was blessed with a warm family and a home full of delicious dishes. My mother was always cooking something. Spicy rendang, stir-fry, seafood dishes, oh, how I'the love to return to that state of bliss when my parents were still alive and we could have a normal dinner together, chatting about mundane stuff.I am grateful for those memories. Now I am passing them to my kids. They are no stranger in the kitchen and in a way I am happy because my mother would love this.I learned (and am still learning) cooking by trial and error. The internet has opened my eyes to plenty of food around the world, but sometimes I yearn for the familiar, like this sweet and sour sauce. Being an Asian, we naturally collect tomato and chili sauce sachets from take-outs so we always have some around the house.#givingthanks Angela Mertoyono -
