Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 500 gramsLauki chopped into cubes
  2. 1 tablespoonOil
  3. 1 teaspoonCumin seeds
  4. 1 pinchAsafoetida
  5. 1Onion sliced
  6. 1Bay leaf
  7. 2Whole dry red chillies
  8. 5-6Black pepper corn
  9. 2Black cardamoms
  10. 1"Cinnamon stick
  11. 1Tomato finely chopped
  12. 1/2 teaspoonRed chilli powder
  13. 1/4 teaspoonCoriander powder
  14. 1/8 teaspoonTurmeric powder
  15. 1Potato cut lengthwise
  16. 1Green chilli finely chopped
  17. 1 teaspoonSalt
  18. 1/4 cupWater
  19. 1/4 teaspoonGaram masala
  20. 1 packetMaggie masala

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat a cooker. Once heated add oil in it

  2. 2

    Now add cumin seeds and asafoetida in it. After one minute add Onion and saute till it changes it's colour.

  3. 3

    When Onion becomes golden brown add whole spices and fry them.

  4. 4

    Now add tomato and green chilli and mix it nicely.

  5. 5

    When tomato is cooked add red chilli powder turmeric powder and coriander powder and cook them

  6. 6

    When spices are cooked add chopped lauki and potato. mix everything properly.

  7. 7

    Add salt and water. Mix them well.

  8. 8

    After first boil add garam masala and Maggie masala.

  9. 9

    Close the lid and cook till 2 whistles.

  10. 10

    After 2 whistles turn off the flame.

  11. 11

    Release pressure and after that open cooker.

  12. 12

    Your shahi lauki is ready to serve.
