Ingredients

  1. 1 CupDhuli urad dal (husked black gram)-soaked 5-6 hours, and ground to a paste
  2. For frying Oil
  3. 2 1/2 CupsYoghurt (beaten smooth)
  4. 2 tspSalt
  5. 2 tspCumin seeds (powdered), roasted
  6. 2 TbspCoriander leaves, chopped
  7. 1/4 tspblack pepper
  8. 1/2 tspChilli powder
  9. 1 tspKala namak (black rock salt)
  10. For garnishingChaat masala

Steps

    Beat daal well to make it light and fluffy.
    Shape the wadas and fry in hot oil, to a golden brown over medium heat. Lift out of the oil and put into a pan of salted water.Repeat this with the rest of the batter.
    Mix the salt, 1 tsp of the cumin, 1 Tbsp of the coriander leaves and black pepper into the Yoghurt.

    Heat the oil.

    Shape the wadas and fry in hot oil, to a golden brown over medium heat. Lift out of the oil and put into a pan of salted water.

    Repeat this with the rest of the batter.

  5. 5

    Mix the salt, 1 tsp of the cumin, 1 tbsp of the coriander leaves and black pepper into the Yoghurt.

  6. 6

    Squeeze out the fried bhallas and arrange them on a serving dish.
    Cover it with Yoghurt garnish with the rest of the cumin, coriander leaves, chilli powder, kala namak.
