Everyone has their favourite brownie recipe - this is mine as it is the one my husband used to make before we started dating! The recipe is very forgiving if you get the amounts slightly wrong and you can easily swap the nuts for a different kind or miss them out entirely!

Preheat the oven to 190C. Line a baking tray with paper or just grease with butter.

Melt the butter, sugar and chocolate in a saucepan until nice and liquid. Stir regularly to make sure the sugar doesn't catch!

Weigh out the flour and cocoa powder.

Add 5 eggs to your large mixing bowl. Combine with the melted butter mixture and then add the dry ingredients.

Weigh out about 50g of walnuts and break up a bit if they are in large pieces.

Combine the nuts into your mixture and pour into a baking tray.

Bake for 35-50 minutes- it is done when it rises and cracks on the top. You can always check that a knife comes out clean.
