Ingredients

  1. 1 cupoats, dry roasted & ground
  2. 1small onion, chopped
  3. 1small tomato, chopped
  4. 1 tsp.ginger, chopped
  5. 1 tsp.garlic, chopped
  6. 1-2green chilies, chopped
  7. 3 tbsp.celery leaves, chopped
  8. to tastesalt
  9. 1 tbsp.fresh grated coconut
  10. 2 tbsp.roasted chickpea flour
  11. 1/4 tsp.turmeric powder
  12. pinchasafoetida
  13. 1 tsp.nigella seeds
  14. 1 tsp.sesame seeds
  15. 1 tsp.chopped pistachios
  16. 1 tbsp.chopped almonds
  17. 1/2 tsp.red chilli flakes
  18. oil to shallow fry

Steps

  1. 1

    In a bowl, mix together all the above mentioned ingredients (except oil).

    Add required quantity of water and make a batter of pouring consistency.

    Heat a non-stick pan & brush with some oil. Pour 1-2 ladleful of the batter and spread it with the back of the ladle to make a round cheela.

    Drizzle some oil around the edges & cook on one side. Then flip it over & cook the other side too.

    Serve them hot with chutney, sauce, yoghurt, pickle or any side dish.
