Mix rice and dal wash thoroughly for 3-4 times

In a pressure cooker take rice and dal mix add water, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and goda masala. Let it boil (without a lid) for 5-7 mins on medium flame.

On the other side take one tadka pan add oil, once heated add mustard seeds and a pinch of asafoetida.

Add this tempering in rice and dal mix (khichdi) and cover the cooker lid, let it cook for 3 whistles on low flame.

Let the cooker cool on it's own. Serve hot with pickle, papad and raw onion.
