Ingredients

  1. For baati-
  2. 2 cupswheat flour
  3. 1/2 cupsemolina
  4. 1 tbspCurd
  5. 2 tbspOil
  6. 1/2 tspCarom seeds
  7. as per tasteSalt
  8. 1 pinchBaking soda
  9. 1 tbspGram flour
  10. as neededLukewarm water for making dough
  11. For Daal-
  12. 1/4 cupToor dal
  13. 1 tbspYellow moong daal
  14. 2 tspGreen moong daal
  15. 1/2 tspGram daal
  16. 1 tsp (optional)Mooth daal
  17. as neededOil
  18. as neededSalt
  19. 1 choppedTomato
  20. 1/4 tspTurmeric pwder
  21. 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  22. 1 pinchAsafoetida
  23. 2Green chillies
  24. as neededCoriander leaves
  25. 5-6Curry leaves
  26. 1/4 tspnGaram masala
  27. 1/2 tspRed chilli powder
  28. 1 tspCoriander powder
  29. 1Lemon
  30. For churma -
  31. 5 to 6Ready baati
  32. as neededPowdered Sugar /Jaggery
  33. as neededGhee
  34. 1 tspCardamom pwder
  35. as neededDry fruits

Steps

  1. 1

    Make a medium dough mixing all the ingredients of bati. Cover it and rest it for minimum 1/2 an hour.

  2. 2

    Heat Appam pan take small piece of a dough and roll it make a ball. Put it in Appe pan, and cook it by turning it till golden brown from all the sides.

  3. 3

    Wash all the dals, and soak it in water for 20 minutes then pressure cook it adding turmeric, Asafoetida and few drops of oil.

  4. 4

    Whisk the dals, now heat oil in tadka pan add cumin seeds, Asafoetida, green chillies, Curryleaves and saute it. Add chopped tomato salt, and cook it. When tomatoes becomes soft add red chilli pwder, coriander pwder mix it add 1/2 cup water and let it boil now add this tadka in whisked dal. Boil this dal and add lemon juice and chopped Coriander leaves in it.

    For making churma.. Mash baati and add powdered sugar,ghee, cardamom pwder and ghee in it.

    Serve baati with ghee, dal, churma, salad, pickle, papad,garlic chutany and papad.
