Food is more than something we eat...it's art, science, love, excitement. I have been cooking since I was 11 years of age & I still love it! My recipes are not the most accurate for the fact that I don't really measure anything. I season with love & passion. I love to bring happiness to the table with food, after all, what's a great meal if you don't have someone to share it with?!

I'm like you...I never measure anything. When I use the timer, it's just to remind me that something's in the oven or on the stove. When someone asks me how long to cook something, my reply is "when it's done!" Lol. I'm not a baker because it requires too much measuring. However, I make pancakes, biscuits, dumplings from scratch and never measure! I've been cooking for decades...developed a passion as a child. My mother never measured anything either and she would make cakes, pies, cookies by using her cupped hand as a measuring cup. I'm not into sweets as an adult but she made some great baked items. I like to can sofrito and give it away as gifts. I gave some to my Puerto Rican neighbor and she loved it though she said it was spicier than what she's used to.
