First add rice and dal in pressure cooker by adding salt,ginger garlic chopped, asofetida, and water by adding just dip 1 inch above from the rice and dal pressure it for 4 whistles first in high flame then on slow flame.Again when cool add more water and cook for 3 whistles

Now mix well and make tadka of ghee with cumin seeds,carom seeds,onion tomato and add very lillte red chilli powder and stir add little water and keep stirring until masala leaves oil.

Tasty light and healthy khichdi is ready to eat serve hot with butter and yum with lemon pickle and curd enjoy at dinner.
