Ingredients

  1. 1 3/4 cupsglutinous rice flour (about 250 grams)
  2. 1 1/2 tablespoonsall-purpose flour (about 15 grams)
  3. 1/2 cupwarm water (about 120 ml)
  4. 2 tablespoonsroasted peanuts, crushed (about 15 grams)
  5. 1 tablespoontoasted sesame seeds (about 10 grams)
  6. 2 1/2 tablespoonsshredded coconut (about 20 grams)
  7. 3/4 cupwater (about 200 ml)
  8. 1 tablespoonbrown sugar
  9. 1small piece fresh ginger, julienned

Steps

    Add the glutinous rice flour and all-purpose flour to a bowl. Gradually add the warm water and knead until the dough is soft and smooth.

    Divide the dough into 7 to 10 equal pieces and roll each into a ball.

  3. 3

    Bring water to a boil. Drop the dough balls into the boiling water and cook until they float to the surface. Remove them and place in a bowl of cold water. Make sure the dumplings don't stick together.

  4. 4

    To make the syrup, add the brown sugar to a pot with 1 cup (250 ml) of water. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly. Add a little ginger for a fragrant flavor. If you prefer a thicker syrup, you can add a bit of cornstarch.

  5. 5

    Once the dumplings and syrup are ready, pour the syrup into a bowl, add the dumplings, and sprinkle with shredded coconut, crushed roasted peanuts, and toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy!
