Kaju pista malpoa

Bengal is famous for its sweets and we are known for our sweet tooth."Malpoa" is a very popular sweet dish which can be easily cooked at home. I have given it a twist by adding pista, kaju and grated coconut as ingredients. The recipe is handy and most of its ingredients are of everyday use.

Steps

Make a paste of cashew nuts and pistachios (6-7) but do not add any water into it.

To make the batter, mix 2 cups of milk and maida. Add the sooji & green cardamom powder into the mixture. Also add grated coconut, kaju-pista paste and a pinch of kesar. Then blend the batter to a smooth mixture. You can also add water as required to ensure the batter is not too thick.

Now to make the syrup, in a pan put 1 cup water and sugar and boil it till a thick texture is achieved. For colour, you can add one teaspoon of kesar in it.

Now to make the malpoa, heat ghee in a pan. Then pour the batter in the pan in small circular shape (like rotis). Fry it till golden brown.

Once the syrup is ready, turn off the flame and cool it off a bit. Then add the fried malpoas in this syrup and keep them for at least half hour. After that serve it by adding some kesar on top and ur malpoa is good to go😊
