Festivals are incomplete with good food and sweet delights. And in today's world every sweet must include health too.
Puran poli is an indian sweet flat bread made in every part of our country like Andhra Pradesh ,Karnataka,kerala,goa,gujrat and tamil nadu in their own traditional way. Today I have given a totally new form to this delicious sweet by making a tasty filling with dried figs (anjeer), chana ata (besan) , jaggery(gud) and cardamon powder. The dough for the cover i have made with wheat flour. So this festive season give this delicious nutritious puran poli a definite try.

Puran poli is an indian sweet flat bread made in every part of our country like Andhra Pradesh ,Karnataka,kerala,goa,gujrat and tamil nadu in their own traditional way. Today I have given a totally new form to this delicious sweet by making a tasty filling with dried figs (anjeer), chana ata (besan) , jaggery(gud) and cardamon powder. Make a smooth tight but soft dough with wheat flour and water or milk. Apply oil. Cover and leave for 1 hours. Soak the anjeer in 1 cup of milk at the same time. Grind to a smooth paste later.

Melt the jaggery in some water. Strain and heat to lightly thicken to smooth syrup.

Roast the chana ata with a tbsp of ghee and keep aside

Now add some more ghee. Add the anjeer paste and cook for 2 to 3 minutes

Now add chiroli

Then goes in the chopped almonds

Now add the besan

Mix well. It will come together like this.

Add the cardamon powder and mix well.

Now add the jaggery syrup. Stir and mix well.Keep on low flame for few minutes. Leave to cool

Take the rested dough. Make small lemon sized balls. Flatten a ball add 2 tbsps of stuffing and seal gathering edges to middle.

Dust will flour and roll

Put on hot tawa. Let it dry roast first then apply generous amount of ghee on each side and roast further.

Place on a kitchen towel. Let the steam go then put in a casserole with a kitchen towel at the base.

Make all such polis the same way. Enjoy
