Add your yeast, sugar, and warm water into a bowl or measuring cup

Stir until dissolved and set out for 5 to 10 minutes

Combine your flour and salt into a medium-sized bowl

Mix your yeast mixture with an oiled spoon until it becomes a dough

Cover your dough’s container and move it to a warm area. Sit out for 1 1/2 hours or until doubled

Get the ingredients for the syrup and mix the ingredients in a separate saucepan over medium heat until sugar is dissolved

Bring your syrup to a boil, turn the heat to low for 10 to 15 minutes without stirring frequently

Preheat oil to 375F (190.556C). Once your oil is fully heated, spoon the dough by the tablespoon into your oil. Cook each piece for 2 minutes on each side, until each piece is golden brown

Drain your dough pieces on paper towels

Pour syrup over dough
