Agua de tamarindo

Agua de tamarindo is a very refreshing drink made of tamarind. I tasted it when I went to Mexico and I really loved it. It was served over ice, but I didn't serve mine on ice. I just decorated the rim of the glass but it's optional, I like the little kick it adds to the drink!

Steps
- 1
For the glass rims, mix red chilli powder, salt and sugar, keep it aside.
- 2
In a jug, add tamarind paste, brown sugar, salt and water. Mix well till the sugar dissolves. Place the jug in the refrigerator to chill for a couple of hours at least.
- 3
To serve, rub the lemon/lime slice on the rim of the glass and then dip the rim into the red chilli mixture, ensuring it coats the rim. Pour the chilled tamarind juice in the glass and serve.
