Ingredients

  1. 1 lbground beef
  2. 1 cupfine chop white onion
  3. 1 cupfine chop green bell pepper
  4. 1 cloveminced garlic
  5. 1 1/2 teaspooncoarse salt
  6. 1 teaspooncracked black pepper
  7. 1/2 teaspoonground sage
  8. 1lightly beaten egg
  9. 1/4 cupquick oats
  10. For sauce topping
  11. 1/4 cupketchup
  12. 2 tablespoonsbrown sugar
  13. 1 tablespoonmustard

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350

  2. 2

    Mix all the loaf ingredients until well incorporated. Don't over work the mixture. Put mixture in a baking dish or loaf pan and shape into a loaf

    Mix together mustard ketchup and brown sugar for sauce

  4. 4

    Top loaf with sauce and bake for about an hour or until a meat thermometer inserted to the center reads 160° F

  5. 5

    Allow loaf to rest in the pan about 10 minutes. Serve as thick slices with your favorite sides
