Moisten the couscous with a little water and let it absorb.

After about 10 minutes, fluff the couscous with your hands, then steam it in a couscous steamer (couscoussier) over boiling water.

Once steamed, remove from heat, moisten it again, let it absorb, then return it to the steamer. After the second steaming, remove and mix with oil or butter. Set aside.

For the sauce, place the chicken pieces in a pot. Add finely chopped onion, oil, spices, and salt. Sauté everything together, then add the chickpeas. Add water, bring to a simmer, and cook until the chicken is almost done. Add the turnips or zucchini and continue cooking until everything is tender.

Serve the couscous topped with the sauce.

You can also serve it with yogurt.
