Stuffed Grape Leaves with Giada's Mix
A blend of East and West
Steps
- 1
First, wash the grape leaves with cold water. Parboil the meat and let it cool.
- 2
Sauté the onions until they turn yellow. Add the chopped bell peppers and sauté in butter, ghee, or oil. Then add the rice and minced meat, and season well. Add 1 tablespoon of flour to maintain consistency.
- 3
Spread the grape leaves on a smooth, flat surface. Place some of the mixture on them once cooled, and roll in one direction, ensuring they are sealed from all sides. Arrange them carefully in a circular pattern in the cooking pot. Pour a cup of grape juice over them, bring to a boil, and cover tightly until the stuffed leaves absorb the grape juice over very low heat.
- 4
Add water and lemon juice until the leaves are submerged, and let them cook until done. Serve hot. Enjoy from my kitchen, Giada.
