Ingredients

5 -6 persons
  • For the cake:
  • 1/2 cupflour (sifted twice)
  • 2 tbspcocoa powder
  • 4large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cupgranulated sugar
  • 3 tbspmelted butter
  • For the topping:
  • 2 packwhipped cream
  • 2 tbspcocoa powder or 2 packets of chocolate or nutella
  • fresh strawberries for decoration

    In a heat proof bowl add the eggs and sugar and broil it on a saucepan (keep the bowl on the boiling water saucepan).and keep stirring with a whisk for 5 mins.keep on low flame.

    Then with the electric beater beat for 4 to 5 mins or until creamy texture appears.in another bowl mix dry ingredients and then slowly add the dry mixture into the wet mixture in batches.

    In a separate bowl add about one cup of batter into the melted butter and mix smoothly.then add the butter mixture into the batter in folds from right to left.

    Then shift the batter into a greased round pan and tap twice to remove air bubbles.

  5. 5

    Bake in a pre heated oven for atleast 25 mins and insert a toothpick in the middle at two different places.if your toothpick comes out clean your cake is ready.(mine a normal gas oven and it takes about 40 to 50 mins to cook the cake).to avoid burnt bottom, put the pan in the middle rack.

    Remove the cake when baked.and give it a rest for 5 mins.then cut it into half.and allow to cool.

  7. 7

    In a separate bowl add whipped cream and whatever chocolate form you have and mix them together.keep into the freezer so that the cream doesnt comes back to its melted form.

    Then put a thick layer of chocolate cream on the first layer of cake and put the other half of cake on it and cover the whole cake with the cream.you can decorate the cake as you wish.
