Steps

In a cooker add dal, mirch powder, haldi, green chillies, tomatoes and 1/2 cup water. Cover with lid and cook till 3-4 whistles

When the dal is cooked add salt and grind to smooth paste.

Add tamarind juice, bunch of curry leaves and chopped kothmir and cook for 15 mins and switch off the gas

For tempering in a pan add oil then add garlic cloves then zeera and rai when they splutter add red chillies switch off the gas and add curry leaves and haldi mix it and add this to the dal cover the lid for 10 mins and serve with plain rice
