Ingredients

3 servings
  1. 2 tspoil
  2. 1/2 inchcinnamon stick
  3. 4cloves
  4. 7large garlic cloves
  5. 1 inchginger
  6. 2medium sized onion
  7. 4medium tomatoes
  8. 12cashews (kaju)
  9. 2 tbspbutter
  10. 1/2 teaspoonred chilli powder
  11. 1/2 teaspoonKashmiri red chili powder
  12. 1/2 teaspoongaram masala powder
  13. 1 teaspoonsugar
  14. 1/2 teaspoonCardommon powder
  15. 3-4 tablespoonscream
  16. 2 teaspoonscrushed kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  17. 2 tspChopped Corinder leaves to garnish
  18. 250 grampaneer or Cheese

Cooking Instructions

    Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a pan on medium flame

  2. 2

    Add the bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves and saute for few seconds.

  3. 3

    Add the the onion, garlic, ginger and saute for 2 to 3 minutes until the onion is translucent.

    Add the tomatoes and cashews and mix it well

  5. 5

    Add 1 cup of water. Cover the pan and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes

    After 10 min remove the Bayleaf cloves and cinnamon stick

  7. 7

    Cool down a bit and then transfer to a blender. It’s important to let it cool down a bit else it will all blow up from the mixer.

    Grind the masala to a smooth paste.

    Take the same pan and add 2 tablespoons butter along with remaining 1 teaspoon oil on medium flame

    Add the red chili powder and the Kashmiri red chili powder and saute for few seconds. This will give the gravy a nice light red color.

    Add the paste, garam masala, cardommon powder Mix it well and cook for 2 minutes.

    Add the cream and mix. And add crushed kasuri methi.

    Add the paneer or Cheese and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame.

    Garnish Paneer Butter Masala with Coriander and serve hot with naan, chapati or rice!
