Ingredients

  1. 1 cuprava / semolina / sooji
  2. 3/4 cupcurd / yoghurt
  3. to tastesalt
  4. 1/2 cupwater
  5. 2 tspoil
  6. 1 inchginger grated
  7. 1green chilli finely chopped
  8. 1/2onion finely chopped
  9. 1/2carrot finely chopped
  10. 6-7bean, finely chopped
  11. 5curry leaves chopped
  12. 2 tbspcoriander leaves finely chopped
  13. pinchbaking soda

Cooking Instructions

    In a large mixing bowl combine 1 cup rava, 3/4 cup curd and 1/2 tsp salt.

    Mix well to form a paste without forming any lumps.

    Further add 1/2 cup water or as required.

    Mix well to form thick batter. Keep aside.

    In a kadai heat 2 tsp oil and saute 1 inch ginger, 1 green chilli and 1/2 onion.

    Saute for a minute or till onions shrink slightly.

    Transfer the roasted onions into prepared rava batter.

    Also add 5 curry leaves, 2 tbsp coriander leaves and combine well.

    Rest for 20 minutes or untill rava absorbs water.

    Add a pinch baking soda just before preparing appe and combine well.

    Heat paniyaram pan / appe pan, add add few drops of oil inside the holes.

    Now fill the holes with a tbsp of sooji batter in each.

    Cover and simmer for a minute or untill appe gets cooked slightly.

    Once the base turns golden, flip it over to the other side using a spoon.

    Simmer further and cook on low heat until it turns golden browns.

    Serve!
