Ingredients

25-30 minutes
2-3 people
  1. 1 cupkidney beans (Rajma)
  2. 3 tbspghee
  3. 1 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  4. 2bay leaves
  5. 1 inchcinnamon stick
  6. 2large onion, finely chopped
  7. 3-4green chillies, chopped
  8. 1 1/2 tbspginger garlic paste
  9. 2 cuptomato puree
  10. 2 tspred chilli powder
  11. 2 tspcoriander powder
  12. as per tasteSalt
  13. 1 tspPunjabi garam masala powder
  14. 3 tbspchopped fresh coriander leaves
  15. 2 tsplemon juice
  16. as requiredFresh cream for drizzling
  17. as requiredFresh coriander spring for garnish

Cooking Instructions

25-30 minutes

    Wash kidney beans for 2-3 times with sufficient water and soak for 7-8 hours.

    Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and let them change color add bay leaves and cinnamon stick, and Saute till fragrant.

    Add onion, mix and Saute till they turn golden brown add green chilies ginger garlic paste, and Saute for 1-2 minutes.

    Add adds tomato puree, mix and cook for 3-4 minutes or till the fat separates add red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

    Add soaked kidney beans and mix adjust salt and pour 4-5 cups water mix cover and cook under pressure till 3-4 whistles are given out on high heat reduce the heat and cook further till 3-4 whistles are given out.

    Open the cooker once the pressure has reduced completely, add Punjabi garam. Masala powder and coriander leaves and mix.

    Switch the heat off, add lemon juice, mix and transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with fresh cream, and coriander sprig.

    Ready to serve yummy and tasty Rajma masala.

    Serve with steamed rice, you can even enjoy it with rotis or bread.
