Ingredients

45 minutes
4 servings
  • 2 cupkidney beans or rajma
  • 2onions
  • 3tomatoes
  • 6-8garlic cloves
  • 1 inchginger
  • 3green chillies
  • 1tsn turmeric powder
  • 1tbsn salt
  • 1tsn garam masala
  • Coriander leaves

Steps

    In a mixer jar put chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and garlic. Blend it in a smooth paste.

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Put onion tomato paste, salt and turmeric powder.

  3. 3

    Wash kidney beans in water for 2-3 times and put it in pressure cooker. Add 2 to 3 cups of water and close it with lid and cook for 30 minutes approximately.

  4. 4

    Now steam is released, open the pressure cooker, switch on the flame and cook it for 5 to 7 minutes. Stir occasionally. Check kidney beans are cooked well or not?

  5. 5

    When masala start releasing the oil add 1 1/2 cup water (if kidney beans cooked well) or 2 1/2cup water(if kidney beans not properly cooked). Whistle it for 4 to 5. Add garam masala, coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or chapati.
