VEG. MANCHURIAN ( DRY )

Machurian is one of the popular Indo Chinese cuisine which is prepared from fry vegetable balls , spicy and tangy sauce. Manchurian can be prepared with gravy and without gravy. Manchurian with gravy can be paired up with fried rice and noodles , while dry Manchurian is best option for starters.
Generally Manchurian balls are fried but I have prepared them in an appe pan and make it healthy.

Ingredients

30 minutes
2 persons
  1. For munchurian balls:
  2. 1/4 cupfinely chopped cabbage
  3. 1/4 cupfinely chopped purple cabbage
  4. 1carrot
  5. 1onion
  6. 5-7french beans
  7. 1 tspblack pepper
  8. 2 tbspall-purpose flour
  9. as per tasteSalt
  10. 1-2 tbspoil
  11. For sauce:
  12. 2-3spring onions
  13. 7-8garlic cloves
  14. 1 tbspfinely chopped ginger
  15. 1 tbspoil
  16. 2 tbsptomato ketchup
  17. 1 tbspred chilli sauce
  18. 1 tspsoy sauce
  19. 1 tspvinegar
  20. 1 tspblack pepper powder
  21. to tasteSalt
  22. 1 tspcornflour

Cooking Instructions

    Roughly chop all the vegetables for Manchurian balls and finely chop in chopper.

    In a big bowl, add chopped veggies, cornflour, all-purpose flour, black pepper powder and salt. Mix all to make dough like mixture, add a little water if needed. Then grease your palm and prepare small balls.

    Heat paniyaram pan, add a few drops of oil in each cavity. Fill cavities with balls, cover it and let it cook.

    Flip all the balls, once they cook from one side. Let them cook from other side. Then remove in a plate.

    For sauce, chop spring onions, garlic cloves and ginger. Mix tomato ketchup, soy sauce, chilli sauce and keep aside. Prepare cornflour slurry by adding little water in cornflour.

    Heat oil, add garlic - ginger and saute them for a while, further add spring onion whites.

    Add mixed sauce and cook for a while. Then add cornflour slurry and saute it. You wil lnotice, sauce starts thickening, if needed add 1-3 tbsp water.

    Add pan fried Manchurian balls and vinegar. Mix well and after a few seconds turn off the flame. Garnish with spring onion greens.

    Enjoy hot Manchurians.
