Masoor dal bharta

Masoor daler bharta is traditional Bengali recipe. Bhorta / Bharta means mashed, it can be vegetables or lentils. In this recipe we will mash the boiled orange lentils with onion, mustard oil, fried red chilies and garlic. Serve with rice for dipping.

Cooking Instructions

Boil dal with turmeric powder, salt. When water in dal reduces completely, remove from heat..

In another pan, heat 2 Tablespoons of mustard oil.

Then fry dry red chilies and garlic for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.Take them out along with the oil in a plate..

Then added onion slices,fry garlic, salt, mustard oil and dried lentils mix well.

Lastly added chopped Coriander leaves then mix well and serve with hot steamed rice..
