First pressure cook whole masoor dal by adding 3 cups of water for 1 cup of dal and whistle for atleast 12 to 14 times so that dal gets cooked and becomes soft.Next heat oil in a pan and add jeera let it splutter then add chopped onion and saute till onion becomes light brown.

Next add ginger garlic paste,green chilli and and tomatoes saute till tomatoes becomes soft and then add turmeric and red chilli powder and saute for a minute.

Now mix the cooked dal, and add salt as per taste and last mix garam masala and smashed the dal with the help of spatula if u find it's very thick you can use hot water to give the desired consistency and keep covering the lid for 5 to 10 minutes so that it gets cooked nicely with masala.

And before serving garnish it with fresh cream and coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati or rice taste deliciuos
