Shahi Paneer is a North Indian vegetable. Shahi Paneer is made in Tomato based gravy. Cashews and garam masala are also used in making gravy which gives this vegetable a very nice taste, aroma and texture.
Paneer is well used in this vegetable so it also provides good amount of protein so Shahi Paneer is also a healthy vegetable. Shahi paneer is served with naan, roti, paratha.

Ingredients

  1. To make tomato onion puree:
  2. 1 tbspOil
  3. 1 tbspGhee
  4. 4Cloves
  5. 2Cinnamon pieces
  6. 5Green cardamom
  7. 4pepper
  8. 1Tamalpatra
  9. 1 tspCumin
  10. 8-10Cashews
  11. 1 tbspGinger chili paste
  12. 3Medium size onion
  13. 5-6Bud garlic
  14. 5Medium size tomatoes
  15. 1/2 tspTurmeric
  16. Salt to taste
  17. To make the final vegetable:
  18. 2 tbspGhee
  19. 1 tbspKashmiri Red chilly powder
  20. 1 tbspCoriander
  21. Prepared puree
  22. 250 gmsPieces of Paneer
  23. 1/4 cupFresh cream
  24. 1 tspKasuri methi
  25. For garnishing:
  26. Chopped coriander
  27. Fresh cream

Cooking Instructions

    Heat ghee oil in a pan and add cumin, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, bay leaf and pepper. Then add large pieces of onion and garlic. Allow to cook for two minutes.

    Now add ginger-chili paste, cashew nuts and large tomato pieces, add 1/4 cup water, turmeric and salt to taste and let it cook till the tomatoes become soft. Then turn off the gas and let it cool completely.

    Add the prepared mixture to the jar of the mixer to make its puree. Keep this puree on the side.

    Heat ghee in a pan and add Kashmiri red chilli powder, coriander and prepared puree.

    Now add pieces of Paneer, mix well and let it cook for two minutes.

    Then add Kasuri methi and fresh cream and mix well.

    So that the Shahi paneer will be ready to serve.
