Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsMatar (Peas) / (frozen matar)
  2. 1Onion, sliced
  3. 1Tomato, finely chopped
  4. 1 teaspoonGinger , finely chopped
  5. 2Green Chillies, finely chopped
  6. 1/2 tsp or to tasteRed chilli powder
  7. 1 tspcumin seeds
  8. 1/8 tspAsafoetida (Hing)
  9. 2 tbspOil
  10. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  11. 1/2 tspCoriander Powder
  12. 1.5 tspDried Mango Powder
  13. 1/2 cupTamarind Pulp
  14. 2Onions, finely chopped
  15. 1Tomato , finely chopped
  16. 1/4 tspBlack Pepper Powder
  17. 1 tspRoasted Cumin Powder
  18. 1 tspChaat Masala
  19. As neededkulcha

Cooking Instructions

    For Matar Chaat- If you are using Dry matar then soak it overnight or for (6-8 hours) and then just pressure cook with one whistle with 1/2 tsp of salt and turmeric powder.

    Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add cumin to it. when cumin starts spluttering add onions to it and saute it.

    Add ginger, green chilli and saute it for a minute. Now add all the spices, tomato and cook it until tomatoes gets tender. Add tamarind pulp and matar to it.

    Let it simmer for few minutes until it absorbs all the water.

    Now let it cool down. When it gets cool add onion, tomato, coriander, Black Pepper Powder, Red Chilli, Roasted Cumin Powder, Chaat Masala, Tamarind Pulp as needed and mix them well.

    Matar ke chole is ready to serve with Kulchas.
