Makar Sankranti is celebrated in our country India with a pomp and show. This day is observed as Uttarayan and Harvesting time. Uttarayan indicates the movement of the Sun from South to North.

We, in Odisha, celebrate Makar Sankranti, starting ploughing, preparing Sesame seeds ladoos, Mudhi Muan, kheer, sweet Khichdi to offer to deity and the Sun God. I have prepared Til/ Sesame seeds Ladoos to celebrate the auspicious harvesting time.
