Ingredients

  1. Ingredients for Chana Masala Curry
  2. 1 bowlwhite chana
  3. 1onion
  4. 1 " piece ginger
  5. 4-6 podsgarlic
  6. 4tomatoes
  7. 2Green chilli
  8. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  9. 1/2 tspSalt or to taste
  10. 1/4 tspred chilli powder
  11. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  12. 1/2 tspcoriander seeds powder
  13. 1/4 tspgaram masala
  14. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  15. 1/2 tspchana masala
  16. 2 tbsp cooking oil
  17. 4 bowlswater for boiling + 1/2 bowl water for adjusting the consistency
  18. 2tea bags
  19. Ingredients for Methi Masala Puri:
  20. 1 bowlWheat flour
  21. 2 tbsp Semolina
  22. 2 tbsp Gram flour
  23. 2 tbsp Kasuri Methi
  24. 1/2 tsp or Salt to taste
  25. 2 tbsp Cooking oil for moyan
  26. 1/2 tspCarrom seeds
  27. 1/2 tspChilli flakes
  28. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  29. 1/2 tspRoasted cumin seeds powder
  30. 2 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  31. 1 cupWater or as required for kneading dough
  32. 1 bowlCooking oil for deep frying puris

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak 1 bowl white chana overnight.
    Boil chana in a pressure cooker with 2 tea bags for 10 minutes after first whistle. Let pressure release automatically. Then open the lid and remove tea bags.

    Grind 1 onion, 1"piece ginger, 4 tomatoes and 4-6 pods of garlic in a mixer.

    Heat cooking oil in a wok and add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put grinded onion Tomato paste and roast till oil leaves the karahi.

    Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander seeds powder, garam masala and chana masala. Cook for 2 minutes.

    Add boiled chana and adjust the consistency of the mixture by adding water. Add chopped coriander leaves.

    Cook on low flame for 10 minutes. Switch off the flame.

    Methi Masala Puri Recipe :

    Add wheat flour, cooking oil, salt, carrom seeds, chilli flakes and cumin seeds powder in a mixing bowl. Add chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.

    Now knead a dough for puri by adding water slowly. Rest for 15 minutes.

    Heat cooking oil in a wok. Knead dough again for 2 minutes. Now take a portion of dough and make lemon size balls. I prepard 10 balls with this dough. Roll it and deep fry till golden.

    Serve hot with Masala Chana, sliced onion and pickle.
