Roasted cabbage steaks w/rubbed garlic

This recipe tasted nothing like i expected. The cabbage released a sweet garlicky aroma with hints of vainilla and chocolate (totally unexpected to me).
It was like a dance of flavors in the mouth sweet and salty complimenting the garlic and spices. It gave some reminiscences of caramelized onion. As you reach the center the strong flavor of the cabbage like in the sauerkraut begins to dominate.
It was a revelation to my palate.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat you oven at 400°F or 200 c.
- 2
Cut the cabbage in slices 3.5cm or 1". They have to be thick since the cabbage tends to shrink once its cooked.
- 3
Mix the olive oil, spices, half lemon juice and the crushed garlic.
- 4
Brush the steaks with the oil mixture both sides and sprinkle some black pepper and salt in the pan you are going to roast them.
- 5
Roast for 30 minutes or until the leaves are brown and crispy. I recommend to flip them once so both sides are crispy when you start to see the outer leaves are brown

smothered thin steak over cabbage smothered thin steak over cabbage
was craving something hardy with gravy and vegetables, this was what I came up with, was originally going to use buttered egg noodles instead of cabbage, but found I was out, also this is also a healthier alternative. I love this recipe, would also be good over mashed potatoes and with bread for dipping....i like my gravy thinner.also sorry about the vague measurements, but I dont measure unless I have to, such as baking. anyways, hope u enjoy, ill definitely be making this again. corvon -
Chinese Cabbage Hamburger Steaks in Thick Japanese Ume Plum Sauce Chinese Cabbage Hamburger Steaks in Thick Japanese Ume Plum Sauce
I tried out a recipe that's been in my head for a while .There's enough plum sauce is for 2 hamburgers. I wanted to try the hamburgers with other sauces and freeze the rest, hence the limited quantity. When making the hamburger patties, mix all of the ingredients except for the breadcrumbs, and then add it while checking the consistency of the patties.Add more sake if the hamburgers are about to burn. For 5 people. Recipe by santababy cookpad.japan -

.Grilled Rib-eye Steak and Roasted Root vegetables .Grilled Rib-eye Steak and Roasted Root vegetables
Steaks on the grill are a year round favorite at our home. Even in winter temps, my other half has been know to fire up the grill for some real charcoal flavor on a good cut of beef. While that is going on, I have made fast work of some root vegetables in the oven and we have a meal that would cost significantly more than making these at home with your own selection of spices and love. kjgaither -

Steak Cubes with Garlic Shiso Miso Sauce Steak Cubes with Garlic Shiso Miso Sauce
This is one of my husband's favorite dishes, so we have it quite often -- especially in the summer, when there's lots of fresh shiso to pick.Cutting the meat into cubes helps shorten the cooking time and creates more surfaces for the sauce to coat.I used beef when I took these pictures, but economical pork shoulder or chicken (thigh, breast meat, or tenders) are delicious in this recipe too. Also, be sure to adjust the amount of sauce to the amount of meat you're using, so that it doesn't get too salty.Yields 1 to 2 servings.
