Ingredients

  1. 1 packagesmozerella string cheese sticks (I like to use Sargento brand)
  2. 2 cuppanko bread crumbs
  3. 1 cupItalian breadcrumbs
  4. 2 tspgarlic powder
  5. 3eggs
  6. 2 tbspmilk
  7. 1 1/2 cupflour
  8. 1oil for frying

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with either parchment paper or foil. Set aside.

  2. 2

Remove all the string cheese sticks from the individual wrappers and cut in half to make 24 total cheese sticks.

  3. 3

Set up a "dipping station." One bowl for flour, one bowl for panko, Italian breadcrumbs and garlic powder and another for eggs whisked with the milk.

  4. 4

Roll each cheese stick in flour first (make sure to shake off excess or egg mixture wont stick), then the egg mixture and then roll in the breadcrumb mixture. Dip it again in the egg mixture (double dip!) and then back into the breadcrumb mixture. You want your breading to be thick for a nice crunch. Repeat for each cheese stick. Place on prepared baking sheet.

  5. 5

Freeze the baking sheet with breaded cheese sticks for at least 1 hour so cheese doesnt melt into a huge glob when frying and breading sticks well.

  6. 6

After 1 hour fry up each breadstick in oil on medium high heat until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve with marinara sauce or ranch dressing. Enjoy!
