Better than Salt Dough Holiday Ornament Clay Better than Salt Dough Holiday Ornament Clay
Non-edible recipe for making ornaments for holidays or any other variety of craft for any occasion. Not gonna take credit for the original recipe. I found that online. I added the color and glitter options though. Lol. This is soooo smooth and soft, easy to work with, and not grainy like salt dough always seems to be. I do always get some cracking, but I feel the end result is just better than salt dough overall. I love it. StephieCanCook -

Sandy Dough for Tarts, Tartlets, and Various Pastries Sandy Dough for Tarts, Tartlets, and Various Pastries
This is a fine and pleasant dough that crumbles when chewed, which undoubtedly gives it its name. It is used for both small pastries that can be shaped in different and charming ways and for very refined tarts. The way the ingredients are incorporated and kneaded results in this crumbly-looking dough. The given quantities are enough for a 20 cm (8-inch) diameter tart, about 15 tartlets, or about 20 shortbread cookies. With this dough, I prepared a banana and strawberry tart that you can find in my recipe collection, but I made a small change to give it a different flavor by replacing 100 g of flour with 100 g of ground almonds, and I can tell you it turned out wonderful. Salt Rising Bread Salt Rising Bread
Been loving this bread for nearly 60 years. My grandkids call it "stinky-feet bread" because when the loaves are baking, or you're toasting slices (we like it best toasted!), it smells like stinky feet. Toasted slices are very crunchy on the outside, and moist and chewy on the inside. DELICIOUS!!!!! NOT easy to make, but well worth the effort! Our home town bakery used to make this once a week, and throughout the 1950s and 60s my dad was always first in line to buy half a dozen loaves. These days the only way you're likely to experience this delicious bread is to bake it yourself. Maggie Conlon
