This is one of my favourite dish among the many gujarati dishes I know. It is typically enjoyed as a breakfast,as a side dish with a meal , or as a snack in the late afternoon. Made with the combination of wheat flour,gram flour,curd,spices and lots of shredded methi,stays fresh for 3 to 4 days and hence i cook a big batch whenever I make. You can halfen and make around 10 to 12 theplas. If storing then fry with a little more oil or ghee.

Ingredients

30 minutes
25 servings
  1. 3 cupswheat flour
  2. 4 tbspsgram flour
  3. 2 tbspscoriander cumin powder
  4. 2 tbspred chilli powder
  5. 2 tspajwain
  6. 2 tspseasame seeds
  7. 3/4 cupchopped methi leaves
  8. 3/4 cupchopped coriander leaves
  9. 6 tbspscurd
  10. 4 tbspsoil
  11. to tasteSalt
  12. Oil or ghee to fry as required
  13. Water as required to knead

Cooking Instructions

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Mix all ingredients well knead into a soft dough.Rest it for 15 to 20 minutes. Pinch small balls.

    Roll into thin chapatis. Fry dry on hot tawa on both sides then smear oil or ghee and fry further.

    Delicious tasty gujrati methi na thepla ready. Enjoy.
