Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cuptoor dal
  2. to tasteSalt
  3. 1onion
  4. 2green chillies
  5. 4-5 clovesgarlic
  6. 1 small bunch fresh coriander leaves
  7. 1 teaspoonGaram masala powder
  8. 1/4 teaspooncumin powder
  9. 1/4 teaspoonred chilli powder
  10. Pinchturmeric powder (optional)
  11. 2 cups or as neededwheat flour
  12. Pinchsalt
  13. 1 teaspoonoil for kneading
  14. as neededOil / ghee to cook parathas

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and cook daal in pressure cooker until soft and mushy.

    Add chopped onion, chillies, garlic and coriander leaves

  3. 3

    Also add seasonings mentioned above

  4. 4

    Add the flour and mix well.

  5. 5

    Add water in small amounts, to knead a tight dough, apply oil.

  6. 6

    Cover and let it sit for 10 minutes. The dough becomes little soft as it leaves out some moisture.

    Take a big lemon size dough and roll out chapatis in any shape you like.

    I like to fold them by applying some oil, in little triangles.

    Roast them on both sides by applying ghee or oil.

    Pack in you kids tiffin with Pickles, chutney or sauce.
