Ingredients

20 minutes
2 servings
  1. 1 cup Ragi flour
  2. 1/4 cupsesame seeds (white/black your choice)
  3. 1/2 cup jaggery/karupatti
  4. 1/4 teaspoonCardamom powder
  5. 1/2grated coconut
  6. as requiredOil/ghee and water

Cooking Instructions

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Add the warm water to Ragi flour and make smooth dough and keep aside.

  2. 2

    Heat a pan add ghee than sesame seeds roast it keep aside. Same way roast coconut.

  3. 3

    In same pan add jaggery and little water. When it comes to thick consistency add roasted sesame seeds, coconut and Cardamom powder cook in medium flame for 2 minutes.switch off flame let it cool. Make round balls of ragi dough.

    Make a round shape and add the fillings and make modaks of different patterns.

  5. 5

    Heat a steamer place the modaks and let it cook for 10 minutes in Medium flame.I had made 15 modaks.

    Tips: add rice flour if Ragi dough didn't come well.Try this healthy and delicious Modak for Pooja celebration.
