Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupyellow mooong dal
  2. 1medium size onion chopped
  3. 2small tomatoes chopped
  4. 2green chillies chopped
  5. 2 clovesgarlic chopped
  6. 6/7 curry leaves
  7. 1 tspturmeric powder
  8. 1 tbsp + 1 tbsp oil + oil for tadka
  9. 1 tspmustard seeds (rai)
  10. To tasteSalt
  11. 2 tbspcoriander leaves chopped for garnishing

Cooking Instructions

    Wash the dal and soak it for 20 mins

    In a pressure cooker add the dal, onion, tomatoes, chillies, garlic, turmeric powder, curry leaves, oil, salt and enough water. Pressure cook on high flame for the first whistle and then on medium flame for 2 whistles

    Let the pressure release on it's own. Then blend the dal with a hand blender.

    Heat oil in a tadka pan add rai when it crackles add it to the dal. Simmer the dal for 2 to 3 mins. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
