Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsspinach
  2. 4 cupsWater
  3. 4 cupschilled water
  4. 2 cupswater for cooking rice
  5. 1 tspghee
  6. 1 teaspooncumin seeds
  7. 4-6garlic cloves crushed
  8. 2green chillies sliced
  9. 1tomatoes diced
  10. 1/2 teaspoonturmeric powder
  11. 1 teaspooncoriander cumin powder
  12. 1 teaspoongaram masala
  13. As per taste Salt

Cooking Instructions

    Blanching the spinach - heat water in a vessel and add the spinach. Do not boil. Switch off the flame and transfer the spinach to another vessel filled with chilled water to stop the cooking process. Now let the spinach completely cool down.

    Once spinach is cooled down, blend it in a blender or grinder.

    In a kadhai, heat ghee. Add cumin seeds, garlic, green chillies and the blended spinach. Add turmeric powder, coriander cumin powder, salt and tomatoes.

    Wash rice and add to the spinach.
    Add water and mix. cover and cook the rice for 10-15 mins. Check in between. Once rice is half cooked,
    Add garam masala, mix and let it cook.
    serve hot.
